Your Own Enemy is a 2D platformer for PC and Mac.
This proof of concept was created as a part of my final year project at Parsons School of Design.
This is a work in progress, elements such as the UI are placeholders, purely for demonstrative purposes. This demo serves to show the art / animation style proof of concept - accompanied by basic game mechanics.
The project focused on the relationship we have with our own internal monologues and how sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. The protagonist's intrusive thoughts would be brought to the forefront as an antagonistic narrator. The relationship between the player and the narrator would inspire a push and pull gameplay dynamic. This relationship intended to evoke questions around agency and self-sabotage.
Although I had to put this version of the project on hold due to the pandemic I would like to build on this concept and art style in the future.
